Millin, Roehr place in WIAA Division 2 state meet

Monona Grove junior Danielle Millin, who made a return trip the WIAA Division 2 state girls swimming and diving meet, finished 13th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1 minute, 2.12 seconds Friday at the UW Natatorium.

Milton junior Katelyn Holmquist won the event as the Redhawks swept the top three spots in the backstroke with times under a minute and solidly won the team meet with 239 points.

MG freshman Alyssa Roehr placed 13th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:24.68 – about 2 seconds faster than her qualifying time. She also finished 14th in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:00.03.

New Berlin West freshman Madison Tew won both events in which Roehr competed.
